Mandy Bing at Campbellford Library

Mandy specializes in contemporary, expressive portraits in vibrant, energetic colour of people, pets and farm animals. She has exhibited in both Northumberland and Hastings County, participating in many Spirit of the Hills events (Warkworth Maple Syrup festival, group shows at the John Parrot Gallery in Belleville) and group shows with the Belleville Art Association. She has also exhibited at the Rideau Valley Art Festival in Westport, the Cobourg Waterfront Festival, and Woofstock in Toronto, winning Juror’s Choice and People’s Choice awards and the Bea Williamson award for Innovative Use of Colour.

Artist’s Statement While I continue to develop my interest in portraiture, I specialize in animal portraits. I hope that each painting speaks a thousand words, more than any statement I could make! My work expresses my love for animals and my admiration for the special bond that exists between people and their pets. It is a celebration of how these special creatures enrich our lives. I hope that each piece communicates to the viewer the joy I derive from truly capturing the uniqueness of each subject: the strength, the stillness, the mystery and occasionally the goofiness of each one.
