Dick Kane

My photography is an attempt to express my inner vision and personal interpretation of reality. By presenting the commonplace in new ways, I hope viewers will share my joy of discovery.

Recently, I switched from using both 35 mm and medium format (2 1/4 x 2 1/4) film cameras in my quest for interesting images to the Nikon CP 8800 digital camera, with fixed 35 - 350 mm zoom lens and vibration reduction.

I am a member of the Quinte Arts Council, Photo-Nat, and Trenton Town and Country Camera Club.

There are some people who I'd like to acknowledge in my development as a photographer. Thanks to Freeman Patterson for first pointing the way to me 25 years ago and to Chris Faiers, Stirling - Rawdon librarian, for opening the door. Also, thanks to Laurene Winkler of for her encouragement and support. Thanks too, to my wife, Bev for her patience, forbearance and encouragement over the years.

Ongoing displays of my photography are located at:

  1. Bohemian Penguin Restaurant, 399 Front St. Belleville
  2. Gallery ArtPlus 54 North Front St. in Belleville
