I'm a gal who likes to make things and always have been. I grew up in a rural area, surrounded more by trees and animals than people. In my pieces you will find old houses with old secrets, girls digging up memories, and the love, lives and deaths of pets and other creatures.

In 2003 I graduated with my BFA from York University. Over the years I have worked in many media including printmaking, painting, drawing, wood-working and fiber arts, but it is printmaking that I always return to. I am constantly inspired by nature and animals. Over the last couple years I have started to frame my own work with vintage frames which I hunt down and re-finish. I've been living in Cobourg since 2009, working away in my backyard studio.

My work is often described as “nostalgic” as I work in a folk/primitive style with a light colour palette and I enjoy the aesthetic of old children’s book illustrations. I am inspired by the idea of childhood, of small and private environments, and how the world around you changes as you grow up, how things start to look and feel different. My prints convey a bit of sadness as well as hope, as they deal with a love and respect for nature but are often subtly confrontational.
