Norma Keith - Photographs

Norma and her husband Frank left Toronto after retirement and embraced the beautiful highlands of Northumberland and photographing the magnificent sunsets over Rice Lake from her front door.

Norma’s interest in photography started at a young age with her first Kodak Brownie camera and the rest is history. Norma took various photography courses at Ryerson University but mostly is self-taught. She still uses film to a small degree and loves to experiment with B&W infrared film and the ghostly effect it produces, but has gradually switched over to the world of digital and still learning the finer details of this amazing technology.

Norma joined Spirit of the Hills in 2006 and has entered and been accepted in various juried shows throughout Northumberland. She has had photographs exhibited at the Campbellford Public Library and the Art Gallery of Northumberland’s Upstairs Gallery. She has had her photographs published in Photo Life and made the cover of a 2001 African Safari magazine. Norma was also the Special Event photographer for the Toronto Canadian Cancer Society for ten years.

Norma is inspired by nature, wildlife and the great outdoors. She has travelled throughout the world but finds it’s such a joy to see this incredible beauty just outside her front door. Two of her favourite subjects to photograph are her two dogs, Skye and Monty.
