Patricia Calder - Photographer

Contact: patinpei@yahoo.ca

Late afternoon/early evening Patricia Calder heads out of the house with her camera. The slanted rays at the end of the day add luminosity to land, water, and the coats of animals. There is an old saying that the camera looks both ways. Calder photographs reflect a connection with nature; she likes to capture the many moods, motions, and personality of the horses and scenes she photographs.

Calder Photography art cards are available at the Art Gallery of Northumberland in Victoria Hall, Cobourg, SideStreet Gallery in Wellington, Cree Gifts in Colborne, and Greenhawk Harness & Equestrian Supplies in Peterborough and Stirling.

Calder is one of the photographers in an upcoming book, We Live Here, featuring images of Northumberland county. Several artists have been inspired to paint from Calder photographs. Her work has been chosen in CLIC (Eastern Ontario Photography Show) in 2010 and 2011, and has appeared in the October 2010 Brighton Arts Council Show, Lang Pioneer Village (June 2011), and Brighton Public Library (summer 2011).
